Jane has extensive experience in all aspects of commercial property. She has acted for both commercial landlords and tenants in advising and negotiating commercial leases for shops office and industrial units and the sale and purchase of freehold commercial property.

Jane also acts for developers and has extensive experience in the acquisition of land for development via conditional contracts and option agreements. She is experienced in all aspects of development such as overage provisions and clawback, planning obligation deeds (called Section 106 Agreements), the Community Infrastructure Levy and drainage and highway adoption agreements. Her experience means she is aware of the commercial pressures that many businesses face.

Jane has a particular niche specialism as she acts for Registered Providers of social housing on all aspects of land acquisitions for social housing development including nomination agreements, open market sales, shared ownership, shared equity and other low cost home ownership schemes such as shared ownership schemes in rural area.

Jane has worked as a solicitor both in the public and private sectors first as an in-house local authority lawyer and then in private practice firms.
